During the colder months, it's great to have a wood-burning stove or fireplace to keep you warm, but unfortunately, it's not very child-friendly to have one in your home. With a Flex Safety Gate, you can keep your little ones at a safe distance from the fire so the whole family safely can enjoy the warmth.
The BabyDan Flex Safety Gate comes in different sizes, so you can easily choose one that fits your wood burning stove or fireplace. Remember to choose a safety gate that is wide enough to keep your child at a long distance from the stove or fireplace. Please note that when used as a fire surround, always place the gate at minimum 75 cm (29.6”) away from the source of heat/fire and minimum 90 cm (35.5”) from open fire. Since every fireplace/wood burning stove reaches different temperatures, the placing is only intended as a guideline. Test your own unit at maximum heat output before placing the gate. If the gate is hot to the touch, move it further away from the heat source than the recommended minimum distance says. If it is not possible to keep the recommended distances, you can buy separate sections for the gate.

Can be opened with one hand
The door can be easily opened with one hand, leaving your other hand free to heat up the stove, add more wood or briquettes or stir up the embers. Simply pull back the latch with your thumb and lift up the door and it's open.
Wall-mounted for extra safety
The Flex safety gates are wall-mounted, which means that you will need screws to install the gates on walls or door frames. This makes the gate even more secure - and ideal for shielding your fireplace or wood-burning stove.
