BabyDan Carl XXX Wide Safety Gate, black
Wall-mounted
BabyDan Carl is made of solid metal, which not only makes it sturdy and robust, but also highly resistant to rust. This means, for example, that it can be used both indoors and outdoors*
The Carl XXX Wide is also ideal as a hearth gate as it can create a stable barrier that keeps your child at a safe distance from the heat source.
Where the bars on many of our other metal gates are hollow, these are solid all the way through. This makes it possible to make the bars thinner without compromising on strength.
As something special, this gate has a bar spacing of just 3.5 cm.
These two things combined with the curved bars give the gate a light and elegant look, even though it's rock solid.
The gate can be set at different angles to create a soft arc or a sharper crescent shape. The sections can be positioned flexibly so the door can be in the centre, to the side or at the end, whichever best suits your needs.
Another special feature of the Carl XXX Wide is the ability to transform the grid into a spacious pentagonal playpen. When assembled, the playpen measures approximately 360 cm in diameter and provides a play area of around 1 m² where your child can play safely and securely. A separate playpen mat can be purchased for extra comfort.
The wide gate makes it easy to get in and out of the playpen and can be operated with one hand - handy for parents on the go.
The Carl XXX Wide is infinitely expandable by adding extra sections (33 cm or 72 cm, sold separately) to adapt to larger areas in the home.

WARNING: Incorrect installation can be dangerous
WARNING: Do not use the safety barrier if any components are damaged or missing.
WARNING: The safety barrier must not be fitted across windows.
WARNING: Never use without wall fittings.
WARNING: Never install one safety barrier above another in an opening
When used as a fire surround, always place the gate mini mum 75 cm (29.6”) away from the source of heat/fire and minimum 90 cm (35.5”) from open fire. Since every fireplace/wood burning stove reaches different temperatures, the placing on page 2-3 is only intended as a guide line. Test your own unit at maximum heat output before placing the gate. If the gate is hot to touch, move gate further from heat source than the recommended minimum distance. Should it not be possible to keep the recommended distances, separate sections are available at your supplier.
Be aware of hazards associated with children using or climbing over the safety barrier. Never climb over the gate. Never allow children to swing on the gate.
This safety barrier is for domestic use only.
When fitted as instructed, between two clean structurally sound surfaces, this product conforms to EN 1930:2011.
Always place the gate directly on the floor.
If the safety barrier is used at the top of the stairs, it should not be positioned below the top level. If the safety barrier is used at the bottom of the stairs, it should be positioned at the front of the lowest tread possible. The gate must be placed as far away from the stairs that the child will not be able to reach the bottom stair and crawl over the gate.
Please note that this product not necessarily prevents accidents to happen. Never leave your child unattended.
This gate is designed for children up to 24 months. However, this guidance should be constantly monitored against your child’s own development, as individual children’s skills do develop at different ages.
Important: The screws provided are only intended for fixing into wood. If fixing into other material, use appropriate screws and wall-plugs. If mounting onto brick, drywall or other dissimilar surfaces, it may be necessary to mount a smooth surface such as a wooden batten on to the wall.
If the gate is damaged or has been exposed to an accident it must not be used again. Additional or replacement parts should only be obtained from manufacture or distributor.
The safety barrier has a manual closing system. Always check that the safety barrier is correctly closed and locked. The safety barrier should be checked regularly to ensure that it is secure and functioning in accordance with these instructions. This safety gate is made from metal. Only clean using warm soapy water, or a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or bleach.
